China–Vietnam road freight and Cambodia transit

Giang To Vien Duong International Transport (Luchi Vietnam) │ China – Vietnam – Cambodia cross-border land transport │ Customs cleared at both ends

Luchi Vietnam takes the shipment end to end, from the seller’s warehouse in China to the buyer’s warehouse in Vietnam or Cambodia and the same in the other direction, customs at both ends included. From a few kilograms of samples to a full 45ft container, one point of contact across the whole order.

We are a customs broker recognised by the Vietnamese customs authority, so your company stays named on the declaration and keeps control of the shipment, while we prepare the file and do the work at the border under a customs brokerage contract.

Cargo we handle most

  • Fabrics
  • Garment trims and accessories
  • Footwear materials and components
  • Finished garments
  • Factory machinery – production supplies

For cargo outside these five groups, just send us the shipment details. We check the lane and the documents before quoting.

The customers we serve

In Vietnam alone we serve around 430 companies, most of them manufacturing plants. Over the past 28 months we have handled close to 10,000 import declarations, around 30,000 tonnes in total. Of those customers, 128 have used the service ten times or more, and that group alone accounts for 92% of the volume we move.

Our customers are spread across 24 provinces and cities in industrial hubs throughout the country, and clear goods through 94 different customs units. Most are in textiles, garments and footwear, alongside electronics, plastics, engineering and stationery. Among them are companies listed on HOSE, HNX and UPCoM, member units of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, foreign invested plants whose parent companies are listed in New York, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Taipei, and a number of firms named on the Ministry of Industry and Trade list of reputable exporters.

On the other side of the border we work regularly with close to 500 exporters in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore, from listed trading groups to small and medium factories.

For reasons of confidentiality, we do not publish customer names, volumes or supplier names on this website.

Why customers choose us

  • Two consolidation warehouses in China:
    1. Dongguan warehouse, close to Guangzhou 45 km, Shenzhen 70 km, Hong Kong 100 km, Huizhou 70 km, Foshan 70 km, Zhongshan 90 km, Zhuhai 120 km, Jiangmen 110 km.
    2. Shaoxing warehouse, close to Shanghai 180 km, Hangzhou 50 km, Ningbo 130 km, Suzhou 150 km, Nantong 220 km, Jiaxing 70 km.
  • Transloading yard at Dongxing, at the crossing opposite Mong Cai. Chinese and Vietnamese trucks meet here to transload.
  • Pickup at the seller’s warehouse and delivery to the address you give us. Both legs are quoted openly from the start and are included in the all-inclusive price.
  • From a few kilograms of samples to a full 45ft container, one point of contact across the whole order.
  • Our own company in China, so procedures and documents at the China end are handled by us directly.
  • Customs cleared at both ends, import and export: we prepare and file the documents at both ends.

How we work, nine steps

  1. You send the shipment details: commodity, number of packages, weight, volume, pickup point, delivery point.
  2. We check the lane and the documents, and state any risk openly.
  3. We issue an all-inclusive quotation for that specific shipment.
  4. We sign the service contract. For new customers we include a sample document set and a written guide.
  5. We receive the goods at the consolidation warehouse if you deliver them there, or our truck collects them on request.
  6. Customs clearance at both ends.
  7. Door delivery, with the signed delivery receipt sent to you.
  8. Shipment closed and the complete document set handed over.
  9. Service invoice issued and payment settled.

How we calculate the freight

Conversion factor: 1 m³ counts as 200 KG. The freight is charged on whichever is greater, actual weight or the weight converted from volume. We publish this factor so you can work out your own estimate before asking for a price.

Included in the all-inclusive price: main leg freight, pickup at the seller’s warehouse, delivery to the receiving address, transloading fee at the border, customs declaration service fee at both ends.

Charged separately and quoted before they arise: import duty and value added tax as declared, cargo insurance at 0.08% of invoice value, storage and yard fees if the goods stay beyond the free period, inspection fees if the shipment is routed for physical examination, specialised licence fees if the goods fall under sector management.

Quotations are issued per shipment rather than from a general rate sheet, because the rate changes with the lane, the commodity, the timing and the volume.

Cargo we do not accept

We say this upfront so you do not waste time.

Never accepted, under the law: narcotics and precursors; weapons, ammunition, explosives, support tools; counterfeit goods, trademark infringing goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights; publications and items banned from circulation; wild animals and wildlife products listed under CITES; cash, foreign currency, gold, precious metals, gemstones; radioactive material; scrap not on the list permitted for import.

Not accepted because of the nature of cross-border road transport: dangerous goods of Class 1 explosives and Class 7 radioactive material; flammable liquids with a low flash point; compressed gas and gas cylinders; loose batteries and accumulators not packed to UN38.3; live animals and plant seedlings; cargo requiring deep freezing.

Accepted, but must be declared and documented in advance: branded goods, which need a letter of authorisation from the brand owner or a distribution contract; goods under sector management that need an import licence; goods subject to animal or plant quarantine; goods subject to state quality inspection; food, cosmetics, medical devices; chemicals on the declaration list; used goods; equipment with batteries installed; high value goods that need a separate insurance arrangement.

General condition: we do not accept a shipment without documents proving its origin, and we do not accept a request to declare the wrong commodity name, the wrong HS code or the wrong value. Goods travel on a declaration that matches the real transaction. If there is anything unsuitable in the file, we say so before we take the goods, rather than dealing with it after the truck has left.
